8th! Welcome back for the 2004-2005 season!
Joe Battista Sports Hall of Fame Inductee
Icers Coach Joe Battista will be one of the 10 inductees for the East Boros
Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will
be held on October 14th at the Edgewood Country Club. Joe played ice hockey,
baseball and ran cross-country at Penn Hills before his Icers playing career.

Former Icers Trying out with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins
Four former Icers are trying out with the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, the
AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The former Icers are Bill Downey,
Curtiss Patrick, Mark Scally, and Glenn Zuck. The training camp started September
25th and ends before the WB/S Penguins season opener October 13th.
2004 Summer Fundraising Recap/Icer Open
Over the summer the Icers Booster Club did merchandise sales at the hockey camps
on campus. For this summer over 14 thousand dollars was raised thru these merchandise
sales.
The 2004 Icer Open was held on August 22nd at the Penn State Blue Course. Over
100 golfers participated in the fundraising event. In addition to the golf there
was breakfast, lunch, on-course events, and a "kickers" raffle back
at the main tent. Thank you to all the players, volunteers, and sponsors who
made this a great success.

The first annual Summer Alumni Game was played on Saturday, August 21. The Blue
Team was led by former Icers Don Coyne, Greg Held, Neil Price, and Mark Horgas.
The White Team was led by none other than the Coach himself (who scored a Hat
Trick!). Eighteen former and current Icers participated in the game prior to
the Icer Open (providing laughs for all!).
2005 Alumni Weekend
Are you Icers Alumni? What are you doing the first weekend of February 2005?
February 4-5 2005 is the 2005 Icer Alumni Weekend. There will be the home games
with Delaware that weekend Friday at 9pm and Saturday at 3:30pm. The Alumni
Banquet will be held 11am-3pm on February 5th at the Nittany Lion Inn.
There are a few milestones that will be celebrated this weekend including:
5th Anniversary of the 2000 ACHA National Championship
15tth Anniversary of the 1990 National Championship Team
25th Anniversary of the 1980 MACHC Season and Playoff Champions
PSU's only Heisman trophy winner John Cappelletti is scheduled to play in this years alumni weekend game. He plays adult Hockey in LA as do his sons. He is attending to help raise awareness of the Ice Hockey program at PSU!!
Parent/Player Reception
Just a FYI that this year's Parent/Player reception will be held Saturday October
30th at Lou's Stick Room at Champs in State College.
